Believe in Yourself
Sometimes believing in yourself can be rather hard to some people. Others believe that they are able to conquer the world. I would be in the group that struggles with believing in myself. I learned (and still am learning) that you have to believe in yourself to accomplish your dreams.
Between my college classes, taking 3 big tests and making some decisions, I was feeling stressed. I felt like I was not prepared for the test I was scheduled to take on Saturday. I felt as if I had not given myself enough time to study. I just knew I was going to end up retaking the test (again). I decided Saturday morning that I am the only person that can reach for what I want and I can't do that until I believe in myself. I remember when I was younger (and still today) my mom always telling me that I am the only person that doesn't believe in me. I am very blessed to have a mother, father, and sister that push me to do my best. I have an awesome boyfriend that never lets me tell myself I cannot do something. They do not let me settle for less than what I am capable of, and I am thankful for that. There was a time when I was ready to give up on my dreams. I thought there was no way possible for me to succeed. Every time I had to stop and remember that I do know what I am reaching for and where I want to go. I often have to stop myself in my tracks and look at the big picture I've painted of my dreams. In the words of Lauren Daigle, "Your [God] ways are always higher, Your plans are always good". Not everything you plan and paint a picture of in your mind will be what the Lord has in store for you, but He does tell us in Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it's the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Believing in yourself has to be something that you personally choose to do. You are the only person that can make the choice to have faith in your abilities.
Before I walked into the test, I had to remind myself that I was the only person standing in the way. Believing in yourself can sometimes be hard, but the outcome will far outweigh the hard times.
