New beginnings

I never realized how blessed I was to find my passion early on. I have been asked a few times lately how many times I have changed my major in college, with the response of "None". I was reading this book my 1st grade teacher made for her students the other night. It had a page in the book with jobs under each of my classmates pictures. Written under my name was "Teacher", and ever since I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. When people get frustrated about what they want their future to look like, it seems so easy to me. I know exactly what I want my future to look like, where I want to be, and what I want to be doing. So when people ask me how to know what they are passionate about, I tell them it is something you love.

Next week school starts back and this time I can actually say that I am excited! I am starting the Special Education program at Georgia College. This means only 4 semesters left, which I am excited about too.

Finally, I am getting to the classes that matter. For the past 4 semesters I have taken classes that pretty much are useless things I do not need to know. I am not going to teach any of my students about the history of theatre. This year will bring lots of joy to my life. I still have the same passions and hobbies, just this year is special. Getting to start on the path that I will follow for the rest of my life. Looking forward to the semesters to come.

Last year I questioned where I was at in college and wondered if I was in the right place. When I was in the process of applying for my Junior year and making plans, there was one verse from the Bible that seemed to become more frequent. "And if not, He is still good" Daniel 3:8. There were a few times that I continued to feel pushed back further and further. I soon realized that no matter what, He is still good. It doesn't matter the situation, He is still good. There is no way that I could be in this point in life as I getting ready for my 3rd year of school with out prayer and support. It is hard to believe that I am starting my 3rd year of college in a couple of days.

I spent my summer doing what I love, working at a special needs camp. I enjoyed some time with people I love the most and making memories. I even got to relax a little before school started. Until next year, Summertime!

Here is to Junior year with a new roommate, new friends, and a new chapter in my life.
